A short test. Your profile. And a language for what happens between you.
Take the test in ca. 10 minutes and get your profile with 10 personality traits — free.
SAMRUM is a Danish family tool that helps you see your everyday patterns — both when things are going well, when something is off, and as preparation if you're considering therapy. It's built on the Big Five, the most validated model in modern personality research, and translated into everyday words you can use.
Take the test on your own — invite others later
Free profile. Reports and tracks can be purchased separately
For you, couples, parents, teenagers, and blended families
You don't need a crisis to use this. Most families just want to understand each other better — and you each take your own version; no one sees anyone else's answers.
A calmer view of yourself can sometimes change more between you than another discussion does.
“Thanks for the helpful suggestions for what our family can actually try. We're going to take turns planning something together at the weekend.”
How it works
Four steps. Start alone — invite others later.

What you can get out of it
The test and profile are free. From there you have three tools — use them as you need, one at a time or together.
Report
€10–33
A report about a specific dynamic
A detailed walk-through of the patterns between two or more of you — strengths, friction, and concrete things to try. Delivered in three formats: the full text, a guided walkthrough in smaller chunks, or a 5-minute audio summary.
See how a report is structured →Focus track
From €7
4 weeks of everyday moves
One focus, one action per week, over four weeks. A personal track for yourself (€7) or together with a partner, teenager or other adult (€10). Not therapy — a structured experiment with small things to try.
Read more about focus tracks →Right Now
Free
In-the-moment guide after a conflict
A 3–4 minute personal guide generated right after an argument. Pattern recognition, a plan for the next few hours, and a 10-second version if you haven't got the bandwidth. Only requires that you've both taken the test.
Read how “Right Now” works →The report describes what happens between you — not faults in any one person. If something surprises you, that's often where the most useful conversations start.
All three draw on the same profile data. You only pay for what you use — no subscription, no lock-in.

Privacy-first
Your answers are used to create your personality profile and only indirectly to generate the reports you choose to buy. Use for product improvement requires active consent.
The AI never sees your answers — only the calculated patterns from your profile. It translates data into everyday language; it does not diagnose and does not take sides.
Answers are private
No one can see your test answers. They're not shared with anyone, not even family.
Reports are private
Relationship reports can be read by the relevant adult participants. Individual reports can only be read by the person they're about (including teens). Reports can be shared with others in the family.
Focus on dynamics
Reports describe patterns between you – how you react to each other and where you can adjust.
Frequently asked questions about SAMRUM
SAMRUM is a family test that gives you a personality profile with 10 axes — not a type like INFJ or Enneagram 4. Other tests put you in a box. SAMRUM uses AI to translate your scores into practical language about your everyday life, your relationships, and your reaction patterns. Learn more about how it works.
All family types: couples, parents with children, teenagers, and blended families. Children from about 6 years old take an age-appropriate version with simpler questions. Teenagers (13-17) get their own version. Adults take a full test with 80 questions.
Yes. Create a profile, take the test, and get your personality profile straight away — completely free. When you're ready, invite others. Many people start alone and add their partner or children later.
About 10 minutes for adults and teens, less for children. You can pause and continue later — your answers are saved automatically.
No. SAMRUM is a conversation tool based on your test data. It shows patterns and gives you a shared language — but it doesn't diagnose and doesn't replace professional help. For serious conflicts, we always recommend a professional.
Your profile is your individual personality across 10 axes — it's free. A report compares two or more profiles and shows where you match, where you clash, and what you can try. Reports are a one-time purchase. See pricing.
Yes. Every report comes in three formats at no extra cost: the full text, a guided walkthrough that shows one topic at a time, and a five- to six-minute audio summary like a short podcast. The audio has a visible transcript (WCAG 2.1 Level A). You can switch between formats at any time. Audio is generated the first time anyone taps play and is then shared with everyone who has access to the report.
Your test answers are 100% private. No one in the family can see them — not even in the report. We don't sell data, and the AI model is not trained on your answers. The report describes patterns between you, never individual answers. Read our privacy policy.
Yes. Each household creates its own family. Children can exist in both. You start independently — no coordination with the other household needed. Reports describe the dynamics in your household.
SAMRUM is GDPR-compliant and hosted in the EU. Your test answers are encrypted and only used to generate profiles and reports. We don't sell data, don't share with third parties, and delete everything if you request it. You can change your consents at any time in Settings.
Yes. SAMRUM is available in Danish, English, Swedish, and German — including the test, profile, and reports. You can change the app language at any time, and when you order a report you choose the report language there. Children and adults in the same family can take the test in different languages.
Our reports build on over 30 years of relationship research. Conflict dynamics are based on Gottman's research on couple interaction (1994, 2015), attachment patterns on Bowlby (1969) and Johnson (2008), and the systemic approach on Bateson (1972) and Minuchin (1974). Patterns are always described as mutual cycles — never as one person's fault. Read about the methodology behind SAMRUM.
Children are measured on the same 10 themes, but results are described in situations ("Oliver withdraws when there are lots of people") — never as fixed personality traits ("Oliver is introverted"). That distinction matters, because stable trait attribution is not defensible for children under 13 (Piaget, Vygotsky). Teenagers have their own principles: research shows they communicate better side-by-side than face-to-face (Steinberg, 2001). We never compare siblings to each other. Read more about our approach to children and teens.
You open "Right now" in the app, choose who the situation is about, and answer 4-5 short questions about what happened. Then you get a personal self-help guide based on both people's axis scores — with pattern recognition, a chain warning, a plan for the next few hours (incl. a 10-second minimal version), and repair suggestions. It's one complete answer tailored to your specific dynamic. Requires both people to have completed the test.
Yes — completely free, and it will stay free. Self-help in the middle of a conflict shouldn't cost anything. You just need an account, and both people must have completed the test. There's no limit on how many times you can use it, but the system ensures a reasonable pace so it doesn't replace conversation.
